Giro Montaro MIPS MTB Helmet

From long climbs to extreme technical descents, with the Giro Montaro MIPS helmet you can do it all. With the POV PLUS Visor you have the possibility to mount your goggles on the front of the helmet. Another amazing feature is the integrated mount on the top of the Montaro MIPS. You can quickly and easily connect a camera or light there.*

As this Montaro MTB helmet features the MIPS system, it can move (slide and rotate) to absorb the lateral and rotational forces during a crash. With the Roc Loc 5 system you can change the fit and vertical position with one hand. Turn the dial for a tighter feel on rough terrain, or turn it back for a slightly looser fit during a heavy climb.

Roll Cage
Roll Cage reinforcement is a strong web made out of a DuPont Nylon that is poured into the EPS foam liner. It provides an extra dimension of strength and integrity, which is only noticed when you need it.

POV Plus visor
Point Of View visors are anchored by a patented internal connection mechanism. The visor is adjustable without any tools and can be adjusted up- or downwards. The visor is designed to stay in place and prevents loosening and rattling, even on rough terrain. There are three different settings that you can use during your bike ride. And there is one extra high setting so you can store your goggles.

Roc Loc 5 fit system
After more than two years of development, Giro introduced Roc Loc 5. This groundbreaking fit system provides a unique user experience with an unmatched level of comfort, stability, adjustability and weight saving. With Roc Loc 5, you can adjust fit tension and vertical position with one hand. Simply turn the dial for a tighter feel on rough terrain, or turn it back for a slightly looser fit during a heavy climb. Even with these remarkable properties, Roc Loc 5 is almost 40% lighter than the previous system, Roc Loc 4.

MIPS technology
The MIPS structure consists of a low-friction interlayer between the EPS lining and the padding with elastic fixations. This allows the helmet to move (slide and rotate) during a crash to absorb the lateral and rotational forces that may occur. In this way it differs from a helmet without MIPS, where compression of the EPS lining is the only way the impact is absorbed.
