Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- These socks are designed for WorldTour professionals who compete on the cold starting lines of four of the five spring classics.
- The wool infusion in the fabric keeps your feet warm and odour-free, no matter how long the ride.
- Thanks to added insulation in the toe area, you will not need overshoes or toe covers in moderate temperatures.
- The 19 cm cuff height prevents a cold gap between the sock and a leg warmer.
- High breathability ensures that your feet don’t feel damp or stuffy, despite the insulation.
- These socks are designed for cool, changeable conditions; in actual winter cold, thicker, winter-specific socks will keep your feet warmer.
- On hot summer days, these socks aren’t the best choice and you’re better off choosing a thinner pair of summer socks.

The Assos Equipe Spring Fall socks are for you if you’re looking for the same level of protection as the riders competing in the chilly spring classics, which often take place in bleak, cold weather. Assos has developed this P1 model specifically for professional teams standing on those cold starting lines. The new fabric combines high breathability with an odour-resistant, thermoregulating wool infusion and extra insulation at the toes. This means you no longer need overshoes or toe covers in moderate temperatures.
The 19 cm cuff height gives the socks a sleek, racing-inspired profile and prevents a cold gap between the socks and leg warmers or long tights. Pair them with other layers from the Spring Fall range and the matching Assossoires for a complete clothing system in the transitional seasons.

Thermoregulating wool infusion
The fabric is infused with wool and is highly breathable to keep your feet warm in cold starting and riding conditions, while also ensuring effective moisture-wicking. The wool also provides natural odour resistance, even after several long rides.
Extra toe insulation
There is an extra layer of insulation in the toe area, which is precisely where your feet cool down the fastest. Thus, you can ride in moderate temperatures without overshoes or toe covers and still have warm toes from start to finish!

- Mix & match with other Spring Fall layers and accessories.
- With a 19 cm cuff height, the socks fit snugly over leg warmers and tights, without leaving a cold gap between the layers.
- The socks are suitable for moderate temperatures without the need for additional overshoes or toe covers.
- The socks are not the best choice for harsh winter cold; thicker, winter-specific socks will provide more warmth in such conditions.
- The socks are not intended for hot summer days, when thinner summer socks will be more comfortable.
- Wash the socks on a low spin cycle to preserve the wool infusion and thermoregulatory properties for as long as possible.
- Pull the socks on straight so that the cuffs don’t slip down while cycling.
- On really cold rides, pair the socks with leg warmers or long tights for full coverage thanks to the higher cuffs.
- Not sure whether you still need overshoes? In moderate temperatures, the extra toe insulation often means they are no longer necessary.
What is the difference between these Equipe SF P1 socks and the standard Spring Fall socks?
This Equipe range has been developed for WorldTour professionals and features a wool blend with extra insulation at the toes, meaning you will not need overshoes in moderate temperatures. Plus, the 19 cm cuffs are slightly higher than in the regular Spring Fall socks.
Do I still need overshoes with these socks?
In moderate temperatures in the transitional seasons, you no longer need shoe or toe covers thanks to the added toe insulation. In really cold weather, you could still wear them both for extra protection.
Do these socks contain wool?
Yes, the fabric is infused with wool for natural odour control and thermoregulation.
