Description
Description
The Shimano Dura Ace 9150 Di2 11-speed front derailleur is the successor to the 9070 series front derailleur. This new derailleur is fitted with a more compact design but with the same shifting performance you've come to expect from Dura Ace. Despite the large torsional forces during the pedal stroke, you can always expect fast and smooth gear changes. The Synchronised Shift mode allows you to set up the derailleur to take the optimal chain line into consideration and automatically shift from the big to the small ring or vice versa whenever the cassette starts to deviate from the centre.
• Shimano Synchronised shift
• Total capacity: 16T
• Weight: 104 grams
Before you start (dis)assembly, switch the front derailleur to the smallest chainring. That way the tension on the gear cable is smaller, making it easier to remove the derailleur.
Disconnect the gear cable
Use an Allen key to disconnect the gear cable from the derailleur. An Allen key can be found here.
Disassemble the chain
Before you can remove the derailleur, you must also remove the chain. For this you need a chain tool or a missing link pliers. The chain breaker can be found here and the missing link pliers can be found here.
Position the front derailleur
When installing, make sure to leave a gap of about 2mm between the outer edge of the derailleur and the largest chainring.
Adjust your derailleur
It is important to properly adjust the derailleur after installation. This is a meticulous job, which you can read here.
It is good to lubricate the pivot points and the cable with some oil from time to time. This keeps the front derailleur shifting smoothly. Good oils that you can use not only for this, but also for lubricating the rest of the drivetrain, can be found here.
