The Shimano H03A Resin brake pads have better braking power and controllability than similar brake pads, and perform very well in all conditions. The aluminium backplate with Ice-Tec fins is instrumental in cooling the brake pads and prevents extra noise when braking.
Excellent braking power and controllability thanks to organic compound
These organic brake pads consist of soft materials. As a result, they give excellent controllability and braking power. Due to the soft compound, these pads also grip quickly. In addition, the organic compound ensures that they make little noise. The disadvantage of organic brake pads is that they are less able to withstand higher temperatures that can occur during long descents, for example. This has already been improved somewhat with these brake pads due to the aluminium backplate and Ice-Tec cooling fins, but is still not as good as with brake pads with a (semi-)metallic compound. In addition, organic brake pads wear harder if you ride a lot in muddy conditions.
If you cycle mainly in flat areas, these organic brake pads are the perfect choice. But if you use your bike mainly in winter, or ride in hilly/mountainous areas on a regular basis, Semi-Metallic or Metallic brake pads are more suitable for you.
Please note:
Manufacturers use different fits. So pay close attention to whether the shape of the brake pad in the picture matches that of your current brake pad. If you don't know what shape your current brake pad is, scroll down to the compatibility section, where it is described for which type of brake that particular brake pad is suitable.
