The Northwave Flash Arctic GTX are winter shoes for the road bike and offer the best insulation when the temperature drops below zero. Thanks to the various techniques and materials used, you can be sure that these road bike shoes will enable you to withstand the cold without any problems.

Gore-Tex® Koala membrane and thermal coating for optimal insulation.
This winter shoe is equipped with the waterproof and windproof Gore-Tex® Koala membrane. This keeps the feet well insulated and warm, even at temperatures around -10°C. The front of this road bike shoe has extra thermal coating, which improves heat retention for this important area. Immediately noticeable if you look at the Flash Arctic GTX is its high Climaflex collar, which is made of an extremely elastic Gore-Tex Rattler® membrane and insulating neoprene. This collar prevents water and cold from entering through the top of the shoe. This requires a good fit on the ankles, so it may feel a little tight. This also makes putting on and taking off the shoe a bit more difficult in the beginning.

The NRG Air Carbon reinforced sole is both stiff and comfortable.
The sole used for this winter shoe is the NRG Air Carbon sole. As the name suggests, this sole is reinforced with carbon, providing stiffness and comfort. Thanks to the extra stiffness, your efforts on the bike are better converted into speed. However, the power transmission of a full carbon sole is still more efficient.

SLW2 dial turning system for optimal adjustment
Through the SLW2 dial turning system you can adjust the fit of this shoe to your liking with a simple turn of the button. This will pull the BioMap Aero Overlap construction tighter over the instep, until your desired fit is achieved. Thanks to the BioMap Aero Overlap construction, this shoe also has improved aerodynamics. By adding 360° reflective details, the Northwave Flash Arctic GTX also makes you more visible in dark conditions.

To help you as best we can in choosing the right shoe size, we measured all shoes ourselves. All you have to do now is measure your own foot length and we will indicate which shoe size fits you best per brand. You can easily measure your foot by placing an A4 sheet on the floor against the wall. Stand with your foot on the paper with your heel against the wall. Draw a line next to your big toe (or the toe next to it if it's longer). Mark your other foot on the paper as well and then continue with the largest foot. Now measure this distance and you have your foot length in cm's! Please note: some suppliers have their own measurement system, which means that what is on the shoe box may differ from what we have measured.
