Shimano SPD-SL

Switched from yellow to blue after a bike fitting. Whereas with the yellow plates I regularly had problems with my ankles and knees, that is now completely gone. There is just a little less play and I really like it. Mantel's service was as good and fast as always.

I have been riding with the yellow SPD-SL plates for a while now. Are very comfortable, which I find pleasant, especially for longer rides. I also found them at mantle at the best price, and delivered quickly. As a last minute decision maker, that is definitely a big advantage.

Great product from Shimano this time bought the blue version. No regrets the blue ones are just a little tighter than the yellow ones, giving me a little more stability when pedaling.

Very good wedges with angular freedom. Rapid pad wear (losses) on my previous wedges, to be seen with this set! Next ones will be blue

After riding Speedplay pedals for several years I switched to Shimano. Adjustment takes some getting used to (listens more closely than the Speedplay) but once properly placed it is top notch. I prefer using the red plates over the yellow ones (too much play), easy to get on and off.

Seems to wear out fairly quickly

Super klick system. The yellow plates have just a little more play and are therefore a little more forgiving to muscles and tendons. For me, injury free is more important than those few percent more efficient cycling. The price at Mantel was competitive

I've had the older style SPD type clips on MTB shoes for years and years. During my first weeks on Furlough I got myself some wide fit road shoes. Doh! They need SPDL clips, but they don't fit my pedals. So I purchased both pedals and cleats. In summary, they do exactly what they say on the box! But...... Are a blooming site more difficult to walk in.

Good cleats with decent rubberised grip pads. However, like all plastic cleats they are way over priced.

I bought the SH11 yellow cleats to fit to a pair of new shimano shoes ordered from Mantel at the same time, but already used the same cleats on my old shoes. The cleats are colour coded to suit the type of rider and the float provided by the yellow cleats provides me as an older sportive rider with the security and comfort that I need.
