The rack is great - sturdy and strong but also relatively lightweight. Looks good too. Delivery was quick and it was a good price.

Heavy duty lightweight well finished rack

Needed a rack that could carry large weights and be heavily used. Research showed this to be a good product and seemed lighter than many (at 640g) for the load it can carry (40kg). Made out of tubular chromoly steel with an epoxy powder coating (matt black) which seems well finished. I like the shape which provides enough width to put stuff on top but is not bulky. It was easily fitted to my Dawes Galaxy (700c wheels) with a good range of adjustment. All bolts were supplied. I use a pair of Altura Orkney 56 paniers (56 litre capacity for the pair) and these fit well. I transferred the reflector plate from my old broken rack. Shop around because prices vary and good bargains are to be had. Mantel offered it at a very competitive price so that helped my decision. Only time will tell if it stands up to heavy duty use but it looks good and seems promising. Apparently Tubus provide a 30 year warranty so it could out-survive me. They also provide free of charge replacement service during the first three years for registered customers, though I have still to work out how to register myself, it wasn't apparent when I unpacked and fitted the product.
