A new generation of cassettes
Road bikes are becoming more and more versatile. Besides the traditional road bike models, we see a growing number of cyclocross bikes as well as gravel bikes. For these bikes, you would want to have the widest possible cassette and crank ratios so that you have the right gear for every circumstance. To this end, SRAM has abandoned the traditional cassette ratios and completely redesigned them! Thus, with a SRAM 12-speed cassette you have a lot more options while carrying much less weight - it's a true win-win situation!
Cutting-edge design for electronic gear shifting
The design of the SRAM Red XG-1290 cassette is optimised for wireless electronic shifting, ensuring extremely accurate and highly responsive shifting. The one-piece machined steel X-Dome™ construction not only ensures impressive weight savings but also robust and durable performances. With this cassette, you will enjoy the benefits of modern technology in a lightweight, stylish package that is in perfect sync with your SRAM Red groupset.

Serious quote
Excellent cassette - a must from SRAM
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Easy to clean as it is milled in 1 piece So no more loose washers and shims.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Lightweight, quality and monocassette
The truth is that there is a big difference in weight and it is very comfortable that it comes assembled in one piece. It is much easier to change it. The drivetrain is very smooth (I have a Rival Etap AXS 12V with 48/35 chainrings and 10-33 cassette, the last sprocket is probably rarely used.
Pros & Cons
5 / 5
Pricey top quality
SRAM Force etap AXS has everything I want. Reliable, customisable, just about affordable, and performant. Only that cassette. It is too noisy. I always thought the Red version was too expensive. A big Mantel discount made me change my mind. And look, finally a low-noise drive. Conclusion: expensive but great toy.
