Description

Description

The Shimano Dura-Ace R9100 cassette is the highest quality cassette from Shimano. All the innovations from Shimano are incorporated into this cassette, so you will definitely benefit from this cassette!

Technology

Low weight
The Dura-Ace R9100 cassette has 5 titanium sprockets, which further reduces the weight of this cassette. The 6 remaining sprockets are made of steel with a nickel finish. The durability is increased by this nickel finish. These sprockets are placed on two spiders, one made of aluminium and one made of carbon. By using these two spiders, the cassette is stiff, durable and the weight is low.

Fast shifting
With this cassette you shift very quickly and smoothly. Shimano has in fact made special shift lines, making it easier for your chain to jump to another gear. You can see this at the grinding of the teeth and small thickenings in the cassette.

• Cassette increments: 2+3+1+1+1+1+1+1
• Number of separate components: 8
• Materials: 5 titanium cogs, 6 nickel-plated steel
• Spider: 1 carbon fiber, 1 aluminium
• Gearing and weight:

• 11/25: 11-12-13-14-15-16-17-19-21-23-25 - 175 grams
• 11/28: 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-23-25-28 - 193 grams
• 11/30: 11-12-13-14-15-17-19-21-24-27-30 - 211 grams
• 12/25: 12-13-14-15-16-17-18-19-21-23-25 - 189 grams

Assembly

Special tools for mounting
To mount this cassette you need specific tools. These can be found here. For a more detailed explanation and instructions on how to use these tools please refer to our blog on replacing a cassette.

Don't forget the assembly grease!
The lockring of your cassette can be well tightened, in some cases up to 40 Nm. To make removing the lockring in the future easier, we recommend lubricating it with a bit of assembly grease. You can find our selection of assembly greases here.

User tips

How often should I wash my bike? Regular washing will keep your bike in good nick. It ensures that the parts on your bike last longer so that you can enjoy cycling happiness for longer. How often you should wash your bike is largely dependent on what sort of weather conditions you ride in. Are you always out there, come rain or shine? Or are you strictly a fair-weather cyclist? It all has an influence on the degree of wear on bike parts, and some of us have to wash our bikes more regularly than others. Refer to the plan below as a general guideline:

October to March:
• Wash every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry and lube the chain after every ride
• Let the bike dry at room temperature

April to September:
• Wash every 300 km
• Rinse after a ride in the rain
• Dry and lube the chain after rinsing or washing
• Let the bike dry at room temperature
