The Selle Italia SLR Friction Free was made for winners. It has the perfect balance between a light weight and incredible strength. The rails are made of titanium. Therefore the rails are extremely light, very strong, and incredibly durable. The Selle Italia SLR FreeFlow Friction saddle is one of the most popular saddles among professional cyclists.
Friction Free
Friction Free saddles have a narrower nose which reduces the friction tremendously between the inside of the upper legs against the side of the saddle. The energy that can be saved can increase to 0.7 W per pedal stroke, about 70 W/min. This way less energy is needed for the last 20 degrees of the pedaling movement. Besides, there is less pressure on the sciatic nerve and the popliteal artery and vein (to the lower leg and foot).
Saddle shape
This saddle has a semi-round rear part, making it highly suitable for riders who move a little while they ride and whose hips rock a little from side to side. The semi-round shape provides plenty of support for those riders while maintaining sufficient freedom of movement compared to a flat saddle.
Flexibility
This is a completely flat saddle which provides plenty freedom of movement. The shape makes it particularly suitable for riders with a high degree of flexibility in their spine.
