The popular Schwalbe Nobby Nic SnakeSkin is in a class of its own. By the variation in knob distance Schwalbe has created a tyre tread cluster that has a positive grip effect. It reduces rolling noise and resistance. The knobs in the middle do not have a 'run direction'. The tyre on your rear wheel is mounted in the same direction as your front wheel. This is so the U-blocks on both wheels can work against the g-forces and resistance of a corner. The rubber on the tread runs further to the side wall of the tyre. The vulnerable shoulder is better protected against cuts. Larger knobs ensure a prolonged lifespan. A lot of small adjustments generate a large difference: 15% less rolling resistance compared to the old Nobby Nic. Moreover, the weight has been reduced by around 30 grams. Thanks to its wide performance application the new Nobby Nic is a true 'allrounder'.

A newly designed sidewall brings a number of advantages: the tyre offers better protection against cuts in the sidewall, it increases protection against snake bites and, finally, it allows for an easy Tubeless conversion. Still the use of puncture protection is necessary, but intensive shaking and frequent re-inflation are no longer needed.

Like all Triple Star tyres this tyre is built out of three parts. On the light rolling base in the middle they have used a fast medium compound. This ensures a low rolling resistance when you ride straight ahead. The medium soft outer knobs provide grip when you ride over a technical single tracks.
