Description
With the Race Artic R-1000x, you choose Rogelli's number one road bike shoe for the winter season. It has been specially designed to offer the best possible protection against winter weather conditions.
Wind- and waterproof
The waterproof, breathable and elastic membrane provides optimal protection against cold, rain and wind; an important requirement in bad weather and/or cold conditions! The use of Neoprene material and 3M insulation with a fleece lining creates a high degree of comfort as well as excellent protection against rain and snow. The asymmetric waterproof zip and reinforced panels bring the ultimate protection to an even higher level, so you can hit the road in wintry weather without a care in the world.
Velcro and quick-lace system for a comfortable fit
The double Velcro closure and the internal quick-lace system allow for an extra secure and reliable fit that is easy to adjust. Moreover, the double Velcro closure ensures that pressure is distributed evenly to prevent pressure points.
Light and hard-wearing outsole
With outsoles made of nylon and fibreglass, these shoes offer optimal power transfer to the pedals. The shoes are compatible with 2- and 3-bolt pedal systems (cleats with 2 or 3 holes); they can be used with SPD and SPD-SL pedals.
In order to help you, as best we can, to choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product's page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and as a result what appears on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.
What shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands wear larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

For the average winter in the Netherlands, fine shoes for cycling.
- W. 15 December 2023
Been on quite a few rides now with frost and lots of rain. You keep your feet nice and warm, and in light rain and/or a wet road, you also keep your feet dry. If it rains very hard, some water can run in through your legs. At 10 degrees or more, they are too warm.
Pros & Cons
Easy to put on and take off
Sufficiently warm even when it freezes slightly
Waterproof against splashing water and light rain
Insufficient cleat placement towards the back
Not completely waterproof when water comes from the legs
