There is no other choice when you have replaced the original 24mm bottom bracket axle with a 30mm one. Because of the small size of the balls, its longevity may not be as great as that of a standard crankset. However, it's a quality crankset. You need to have the special tool for assembly or, like me, have made a press with a threaded rod and two chainrings at each end.

Does the job it's asked to do. However, given the size of the bearings, durability isn't great, but that's the concession you have to make to be able to fit a crankset with a 30mm axle on a bb86 frame.
