The lock is as described...I can't judge how secure it is in the end, but I have it in combination with a frame lock...that should offer enough protection:-) Only the shipping service provider is absolutely not recommended. (UPS)

Extra lock for my e-bike next to the ring lock to replace the chain that clicks into the ring lock. Makes it a bit more difficult for thieves anyway. Fine solid lock, fits well under the saddle, but a bit heavier.

So what can you tell about a chain lock? This lock is very sturdy and flexible. But it has 1 disadvantage: the lock is heavy! I cannot judge whether a burglar/thief will get this lock open because no burglar or thief has yet reported using this lock.

Fine sturdy chain that protects the frames of our mountain bikes. The only downside I can think of is the weight, but we chose this chain precisely for its sturdiness. For traveling we use a smaller bike lock.

Fine lock. Had lost my previous Iven and have now bought another one for myself and my daughter. Opens and closes easily and at 110 cm is a good length to secure the bike to something. The sheath is also good and protects the frame. It is also durable in my experience. Other sheaths tend to come off.

Of course, the Iven 8210 is heavier than some other locks, but it has a high level of security and the chain links are thicker. There are different lengths, so that there is something for every demand. A holder for the longer locks there is not, which is actually also obvious. I put my lock (110 cm) in my bike basket or backpack, so that he does not "jingle" due to the vibrations while driving. But also does not really bother. Just pack it or put something on it and it's done. The lock is unlocked by key and only opened by pulling one end out of the lock. Locking is achieved by pushing one end into the lock, but it is not locked until the key is turned and removed. Always remember. just snapping in does not mean locked. With the purchase of the Iven 8210 you acquire exactly what you want: a safe, reliable, flexible and price justified lock. Safe buy recommendation!

Excellent lock, with 110 cm not too short and not too long. With this you can easily attach the bike to something. The lock is quite heavy, which is logical. It is also a pity that the lock cannot be closed without a key, which would be a bit easier to use.

I chose this one because it is the lightest chain 110cm long with ART2 certification. Likes it super well, the outer fabric is very nice, water repellent and does not get dirty easily. Despite being a heavy chain (2.2kg) everything feels nice. Opening and closing also works well. You turn the key to open, it then stays put and cannot get out, then you pull it open, insert the chain and click it closed again. Then you turn the key back again and pull it out. This all goes pretty smoothly, you have to apply a little force but I personally like that. Feels mega solid.

I bought the lock based on reviews and (especially) multiple tests. I wanted the best lock, because a good quality bike lock can (and nowadays should...) prevent a lot of misery. The first impressions are very positive. The lock is very flexible and very solid in construction. I bought the longer version (110 cm), which greatly increases the possibilities of 'securing' my bike in certain places. And yes, where to buy the very best lock. I have ordered stuff from Mantel several times. Always to my complete satisfaction and always very competitive in price. Both Mantel and Abus Iven: highly recommended!

I was struggling to find a decent security rated (and not shockingly heavy) chain bike lock for my daughter to use for college. This Abus lock was the perfect balance of those for me, but the only place I could find it online was with a bike shop I had never used before (or to be frank even heard of). So glad I took a punt on Mantel! The ordering process was straightforward, the cost was very reasonable and the delivery was nothing short of rapid! It actually arrived a day ahead of their already fast scheduled date, and in good time for the start of term. UK bike shops need to take note of how well Mantel operate; the best service I have received from an online bike shop to date! And we are a family of cyclists. I will definitely be using them again!
