Although the display is large, it has no anti-reflection coating so it may be more difficult to read in bright sunlight.
The Discover Connect cannot pair with external sensors such as a cadence or heart rate sensor.
For the live-track functions, a mobile phone is required.
The Edge Explore 2 is not compatible with the Power mount. Only the Edge Explore 2 Power can be connected to the Power mount.
Despite its clear legibility, the Edge 1040 is on the large side for a bike computer.
The Garmin Edge 1040's battery life is shorter than that of the Garmin Edge 1040 Solar.
