To try it is to adopt it
I'm used to it now, as it's the only handlebar tape I use, but it takes a bit of practice to fit, as you can't stretch the tape. But it does give a consistent thickness across the handlebars. In my opinion, the durability and comfort more than justify the price. I change it once a year, because I'm a bit of a stickler and ride around 5000 km a year, mainly without gloves.

The colour is not pretty in real life.
Meticulously fitted the ribbon. Rode it for a week, but ended up finding it too ugly. Now a black ribbon...
