The Elite wheels Drive 65D carbon wheels have an internal rim width of 21mm and an external rim width of 28mm. This perfectly matches the current standard of 28mm tyres. The Elite Wheels Drive 65D is intended for those who ride time trials, triathlons or races on flat to hilly terrain but it can also benefit the recreational cyclist. Many high carbon wheels are limited by weight, making them less suitable for hills, but these wheels have absolutely no problem with that.
Partner GCN
Elitewheels is a partner of Global Cycling Network as of 2024. A well-known youtube channel within the cycling world, providing you with the latest technologies within bikes and bike parts. GCN conducts many product tests for different brands and came to the conclusion that Elitewheels could fully meet their expectations.
DRIVE Rims
At Elitewheels, Drive wheels were developed to meet the needs of professional riders. To deliver this best performance, a unique UNI-directional carbon fibre was created, a specific ratio of T800 and T1000 carbon fibres, making the rims not only strong, but also exceptionally light and stiff. The U-shaped rim profile of the Drive 65D was chosen to make the rim both aerodynamic and a bit more stable in windy conditions.
Carbon spokes
What sets the Drive 65D apart from most other wheels is the use of carbon spokes. They are 3.2 mm wide aerodynamic spokes, offering 7% more lateral stiffness compared to equivalent steel spokes. The carbon spokes are mechanically fixed, offering the advantage that they can be aligned and maintained just like regular steel spokes. The anti-loosening technology is incorporated in the spoke nipples. The thread built into the nipples ensures they are double locked in place.
Semi-Ceramic Bearings
The front hub of the 65D uses two 6803 bearings with ceramic balls. The rear hub uses one 6903 and three 6803 bearings with ceramic balls. These large bearings offer better rigidity. Using bearings with ceramic balls gives you a smoother running system to save precious wattage.
Performance hubs
To get the most out of carbon spokes, the hub is specifically designed with high flanges to further increase lateral stiffness and improve handling. Elitewheels produces its own high-precision CNC milled hubs using Fanuc CNC machines, which can produce to tolerances of just 0.02 mm. This not only reduces rolling resistance, but also extends bearing life.
• 2 x Tubeless rim tape (pre-mounted)

Incredibly good value for money
Owned the Elite Drive 65D wheelset since two weeks, after extensive research on Youtube. When this set was on sale, I immediately took the plunge. Next day delivery and immediate installation and I must say it was a piece of cake. What an upgrade! Over 300 grams lighter than the original wheels. The wheels run extremely light and feel fast when accelerating. After a few rides the conclusion that it is a thumper of a purchase. Wheels are comfortable, not specifically wind sensitive and fast. You have to love the shiny look, but I'm happy with it.

Lots of wheel for the money. Highly recommended!
I rode with a carbon vison sc 55 wheelset. This wheelset has a much lower weight despite its higher rims. Also, this wheelset seems to run a bit smoother. I am currently riding one PR after another on strava.
