Body type with 12 speed
Some 12 speed cassettes must be mounted onto the 10/11 speed Shimano/SRAM body. They are the SRAM NX Eagle PG-1230 cassettes and almost all other 12 speed MTB cassettes whose smallest cog is an 11. MTB cassettes whose smallest cog is a 10 need a specific freehub body; for Shimano this is a Micro-Spline freehub and for SRAM it is an XD freehub.
