BORN SixPack Energy Bars - Flavour Mix

The Born SixPack Energy Bars contains two different types of bars: Born Flapjack Bars and Born Xtra Bars. You get six bars in total. Together, these bars form a perfect nutritional base for various training activities.

Born Flapjack Bar
The Born Flapjack is an energy bar with a delicious vanilla flavour. It contains various carbohydrate sources, including oats, to provide you with energy for a long period of time. This makes the Flapjack energy bar very suitable for long rides and competitions. A big plus of the oats is that the Born Flapjack bar does not melt in warm temperatures.

Born Xtra Bar
The Born Xtra Bar is a powerful energy bar which deserves to be called Xtra, as it contains lots of energy and no less than 70% carbohydrates. The Xtra Bars are also easy to chew on the go.

Xtra Bar

Recommended use: Ideal for consumption prior to your workout to maximise your carbohydrate store or during the early stages of an important workout or race.

Recommended dosage: Depletion of the carbohydrate store during exercise is one of the main causes of fatigue. Taking additional carbohydrates before and during exercise can improve your (cycling) performance. If the effort lasts longer than 90 minutes, it is recommended to consume extra carbohydrates; more specifically, 1 to 2 energy bars per hour. Or combine an energy bar with other sports nutrition products up to an intake of 60 grams of carbohydrates per hour. A common strategy is to consume nutrition bars during the low-intensity phases of exercise. The digestion process of energy bars requires a higher blood flow compared to other sports nutrition products.

Storage advice: Store in a cool, dry place (15-22 ºC). Keep out of reach of children.

To make your high-intensity training rides most effective it is advisable to pay close attention to what you eat and drink.
During a high-intensity training that lasts several hours, we prefer to take at least 1 bar per hour. And we may add a sports gel or sports drink.
