The Newmen Streem Allround VONOA wheels are the perfect all-rounders. The set has a 49 mm high front wheel and a rear wheel that is 5 mm higher. Add the incredibly low total weight of 1305 grams, and you have a perfect set for mountain use as well as for fast rides on the flat.
Carbon rim
These wheels have a 24 mm inner and a 33.5 mm outer rim width, and require that tyres of at least 30 mm wide should be fitted. The rim is also specially designed for this, that is, to be most aerodynamic with 30 - 32 mm tyres. Thus, when tested with 32 mm tyres, these wheels were faster than many similar models with 28 mm tyres. A variation in rim width between the front and rear wheels ensures optimal aerodynamics with as little wind sensitivity as possible. Thus, the front wheel catches less wind and you can also enjoy the aerodynamic benefits of a deeper rear wheel.
Hub and spokes
The Newmen FADE R CS hub is made to withstand the greater forces of today's larger road cassettes. It uses a 3-pawl freehub system with short and wide pawls for efficient power transfer. Double-sealed industrial bearings are used to ensure durability and smooth running. The front wheel has 15 carbon spokes, the rear wheel has 18. Carbon VONOA Aerowide spokes are used, which are much stiffer and 40% lighter than comparable steel spokes.
Newmen valve
The wheels use the concealed Newmen valves, which means there is no valve that sticks out, which allows for an aerodynamic advantage. As standard, each wheel comes with a Tubolito Tube-Road tube and a tubeless valve. For tyre inflation, the concealed valve needs the included adapter, which you have to tighten with the special valve tool which is also included. So, if you go on a ride with this setup, remember to bring the adapter and tool. Of course, regular inner tubes or tubeless valves can also be fitted.
