The versatile Fulcrum SONIQ 2WF carbon wheelset combines an innovative wavy rim profile with advanced aerodynamics for an excellent ride. The alternating rim height between 42 and 47 mm optimises responsiveness and steering precision in varying weather conditions. The very generous inner rim width creates a perfect base for wide tyres on both clean asphalt and rugged gravel trails.

The full-carbon FF80 construction with a matt resin finish is the foundation of the wheelset. This carbon fibre lay-up creates a stiff structure that efficiently converts pedalling power into speed. By far the most unique feature of the wheelset is the 2-Wave Rim profile with an alternating rim height of 42 to 47 mm. It significantly improves aerodynamics and crosswind stability, increasing security and speed. The undrilled rim bed, made possible by MoMag technology, completely eliminates the need for tubeless tape, creating a safer and simpler airtight seal that makes it super easy to use your wheels tubeless. The very generous 25 mm inner rim width optimally supports the tyre for highly stable handling and predictable steering behaviour.

Besides the striking-looking carbon rims themselves, this system is equipped with robust and sturdy components that enhance the wheels' durability. With a total weight of 1595 grams, the set offers smooth and responsive acceleration. Each wheel is constructed with 24 round stainless steel spokes. To use spoke tension efficiently, Directionated Rim-Spoke Coupling technology is applied to ensure optimised alignment between the rim and spokes. This distributes forces evenly and increases stiffness. Aluminium hubs with low flanges provide a stable core and feature sealed, adjustable bearings. These bearings ensure a smooth rotation that can be precisely adjusted, while aluminium nipples keep tension consistent.

Mounting and compatibility
Classified under ASTM category 2, this 28-inch wheelset is suitable for use on paved and gravel roads. The 25 mm inner rim width allows for safe mounting of very wide tyres, ranging from 29 to even 76 mm, so this set won't look out of place under a gravel bike! For mounting, the front wheel uses a standard 12x100 mm thru-axle and the rear wheel a 12x142 mm one. The wheelset supports a maximum weight of 130 kg.
