Pros & Cons
Pros & Cons
- The Zaffiro Pro G2 is made for distance and, as such, is a very good training tyre.
- The renewed Graphene 2.0 (G2) compound ensures that the Zaffiro Pro has a good balance of durability, rolling resistance and grip.
- As the carcass consists of extra thick nylon threads, the tyre's puncture protection is excellent.
- The focus of the Zaffiro Pro G2 is on durability, which makes its rolling resistance relatively high.
- Better puncture protection comes the expense of low weight, as is the case with the Zaffiro Pro G2.

Makeover for 2021!
The Zaffiro Pro G2 has been completely renewed for the year 2021. The tread has been fully redesigned, and now has elements inspired by Vittoria's more expensive Rubino and Corsa collections. The grooves in the centre of the tread are derived from the Corsa competition tyre and enable the tyre to mould itself more smoothly to the road surface. The texture on the tyre shoulders comes from the Rubino collection; with the Graphene 2.0 rubber compound, this ensures cornering grip in all conditions.
High durability, good grip
In addition to the tread, the carcass was also part of the makeover. It now has slightly thicker nylon threads, which has improved puncture protection and durability without compromising on performance. At the end of the day, the Zaffiro Pro G2 is still the number one mile-eater of Vittoria's road bike tyres. It's been designed to last long; the Graphene 2.0 rubber compound has been adjusted in such a way that the focus is on durability; the rubber is somewhat harder, which has required sacrificing some of the tyre's grip. Nevertheless, the Zaffiro Pro G2 is a very balanced tyre that still gives you plenty of grip during fast descents and in wet weather.
For several years now, Vittoria has been using the magical material, graphene, in the production of its tyres. In 2019 Vittoria presented the second generation compounds, viz. the Graphene 2.0 compound, for which Vittoria uses 'functionalised graphene', whereby different quantities of graphene are incorporated in the compound. These quantities vary between 1 and 10 percent to adapt the rubber composition to the circumstances. In this way Vittoria is able to bring the tyre's performance to a higher level in terms of speed, wet grip, durability and puncture protection.

Great value for money but doesn't last too long (1500km)
I have purchased these tires multiple times. They are one of the best value for money I have found. I use them for my commuter bike so I have ridden these tires in the wet, mud, snow, everything. They have held up nicely and provide surprisingly good grip. Moreover, they are pretty picture resistant. I have gotten 2 puctures in the past 1 year. Nevertheless, they don't last too long. I found myself needing to replace them after 1.5 years (about 1500km) due to the sidewalls cracking. Still, one of the best value for money.
