Trek Ion 200 RT / Flare RT Light Set

The Ion 200 RT / Flare RT light set from Trek is a very high-quality lighting set. The installation and operation is intuitive and simple. I use the light as a daytime running light to make myself more visible in traffic. From the very first time I used it, I noticed that visibility from behind and especially from the front increased significantly. A clear recommendation to buy!

At first glance, the lights seem a little expensive, but they are well worth the money. As soon as you unpack the small cubes, you get the feeling that these are high-quality devices. The form factor is a big plus for me because the lights can be placed very inconspicuously on the bike. They only become noticeable when they light up. Integration with my Wahoo Roam worked immediately and without any problems, as did charging via the outdated micro USB port. It makes sense to me that the small design only allows for a correspondingly small battery - but the runtime doesn't seem too short to me. What you should bear in mind when buying one: The point of these lights - especially the front one - is not necessarily to illuminate the road at night, but to be seen better overall. This is a significant safety factor, especially at the beginning and end of the season.

With the Bontrager Blendr Universal mount and Garmin mount adapter for Varia, the front light can be optimally attached to the Garmin mount. The only thing that bothers me from time to time is that when you switch on the Garmin (indoors and without riding) the lights are switched on! Normally they should only light up at the start of the tour.
