The junction box is integrated into the rear derailleur, saving you a lot of space in the handlebars and bottom bracket. The groupset is also adjustable and rechargeable on the rear derailleur.

Braking System
The disc brakes have been given a major overhaul. The Dura Ace caliper is one-piece and CNC-milled. 10% more space has been created between the brake pads and the discs. This has ensured that the brakes can hardly touch when you are not braking. Nothing is more annoying than brake discs rubbing on during a climb or in a sprint. Braking power and metering are also noticeably improved. The maximum heat tolerance before deformation can occur has been improved by 66%.

Technology

Semi-wireless connection
The Shimano Dura Ace 9200 Di2 Disc 12 speed group is a semi-wireless groupset, meaning there is only a cable connection between the front derailleur, rear derailleur and battery. This makes assembly a lot easier. A fully charged battery will last around 1,000 kilometres before you need to recharge it. The shifters both contain a button cell battery that lasts about 1.5 years before needing to be replaced. It also eliminates the need for a junction box but lets you set up and charge the groupset via the rear derailleur.

Shimano Di2 app
All adjustment options such as assigning shift buttons, way shifting or adjusting shifting speed can be done via the Shimano Di2 app. The function of the shift buttons is individually adjustable. Synchronised shifting or semi-synchronised shifting, where the front derailleur automatically shifts with it for the ideal chainline, is still among the options.

Servo Wave
