Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 Road Bike Wheels

The Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 road bike wheels are extremely light with a weight of only 1395 grams, they are also comfortable and have a good power transmission. Campagnolo introduces this lightweight all-round wheelset with a 33 mm profile, as a wheelset for all conditions. Thanks in part to the AC3 brake rim, you get good braking performance in all conditions comparable to aluminum rims.

These wheels are at an interesting price level compared to the Bora One 35 wheels. The Campagnolo Bora WTO 33 wheels are optimized in the wind tunnel and feel more stable and aerodynamic than the Campagnolo Bora One 35 wheels. Thanks to the internal rim width of 19mm and the external rim width of 26.5mm, 25mm tyres connect best to the rim for optimal aerodynamics.

The rim design allows for aerodynamic properties and can, at certain angles, even be stimulated to cycle even faster. The wheel has carbon rims with a uni-directional aerodynamic finish, new aerodynamic aluminium hubs and the ceramic USB cup-and-cone bearing system: every design choice is made with a goal to optimise performance.

WTO - Wind Tunnel Optimised
Campagnolo Tech lab engineers have completely redesigned the Campagnolo Bora wheels in the wind tunnel. The Campagnolo Bora WTO wheels are the result of many lab tests and intensive field tests by well-known professionals such as Nairo Quintana and André Greipel. The rim design offers tremendous benefits in stability in the wind. The most optimal aerodynamics are achieved in wind directions between 12 and 19 degrees. The rim profile ensures that you have to put less force at the same speed compared to a non-aerodynamic rim profile. These advantages increase exponentially, especially when your speed is above 40 km / h.

AC3 brake rim
AC3 gives surprisingly good braking performance, especially in poor conditions. Laboratory tests have shown that it allows a 6% improvement in braking power in dry conditions compared to before. On wet surfaces, the difference is astonishing: here there is an increase of 43%, bringing the braking distance close to that in dry conditions.

USB - Ceramic Ultra Smooth Bearings
Campagnolo has a reputation for reliable, high-quality hubs with low rolling resistance. In fact, all developments are carried out entirely within the company and with the utmost precision. The resistance of hubs with USB (Ultra Smooth Bearings) ceramic bearings is up to 50% lower than regular bearings. Furthermore, ceramic bearings last many times longer than steel bearings.

2-Way Fit
In addition, they can also be made tubeless thanks to the 2-Way Fit rim profile. But the 2-Way Fit rim profile is, as the name suggests, a technology for both clincher and tubeless tyres. Tubeless riding has many advantages such as reduced rolling resistance, more riding comfort and improved grip. The main advantage of tubeless riding is that you can continue cycling when you have a puncture. The liquid latex fills the hole in the tyre within seconds.

G3 spoke pattern
While the main goal of these wheels is to deliver extreme performance, safety is also guaranteed thanks to the G3 -spoke system with double spokes on the left side of the front wheel, ensuring balanced and safe braking in all conditions.

Installing a cassette on a wheel is easy if you have the right tools. If you purchase a cassette remover with a Shimano fit, you will be able to mount either a Shimano or Sram cassette on your rear wheel. Please note! For a Campagnolo cassette you need the Campagnolo tool. If you have a Shimano 9/10-speed cassette, first slide the spacer over the body. Then you place the cassette on the body. This can only be done in one way because of the fit of the body. Finally you turn the washer straight on by hand and tighten it with the cassette tool. Cassettes aren’t easily overtightened, but if you want you can use a torque wrench for this.

• Pay attention to the direction of travel when mounting your tyres
