Smooth shifting thanks to gear shifting ramps
This cassette has shifting ramps which can be seen on some of the teeth which are rounded. These lines allow the chain to jump quickly and smoothly to a different sprocket. This cassette is very durable thanks to the special nickel coating that has been applied to the sprockets. Wear resistance is improved by this coating, making the cassette last much longer than cassettes without it.

Low weight and increased stiffness
The first 6 sprockets of this cassette are placed on spiders. This construction increases rigidity and makes the sprockets less likely to rub against the body. Besides being durable, this Ultegra 6800 cassette will also make your wheel's body last longer!
Lastly, this cassette is made of lightweight materials and has spiders. As such, Shimano was able to keep the weight of this cassette at a minimum, so you won't be cycling with a single gram of extra weight.

Installing with special tools

Don't forget to use assembly grease!
The lockring of your cassette should be tightly screwed. In most cases up to 40Nm. We recommend applying a little assembly paste to the lockring, so that you'll also be able to remove the cassette. You can find our assembly paste here.

How often should I clean my bike? Regular cleaning ensures that your materials last longer and that you can enjoy cycling for longer. How frequently you should clean depends on the weather conditions in which you ride. Do you ride in all sorts of weather, or only when the sun is shining? All this affects the degree of wear and tear and some people will have to clean their bikes more often than others. You can use the schedule below as a guide:

October to March.
• Clean after every 200 km
• Rinse after every ride
• Dry off chain and apply oil after every ride
• Let your bike dry at room temperature

April to September:
• Clean after every 300 km
• Rinse after riding in rain
• Dry off chain and apply oil after cleaning or rinsing
• Let your bike dry at room temperature
