The Shimano SLX BR-M7120 caliper is a highly reliable and powerful mountain bike brake designed for recreational and performance enduro mountain bikers. This Shimano SLX BR-M7120 caliper increases braking power by 10% over the M8020 caliper and reduces disc brake noise.

All this plus the high braking force provides more confidence and control when going down hills. Made of sturdy CNC-milled aluminium and equipped with resin (soft) brake pads, this caliper offers a safe and reliable way to reduce speed and maintain control during your ride.

Four pistons
The term "four pistons" refers to the number of pistons in the disc brake caliper. Pistons are the components that push the brake pads against the brake disc when you brake. A four-piston system offers more braking power and stability than a two-piston system, mainly suitable for enduro use.

Compatibility
The caliper is compatible with different types of mountain bikes and can be mounted on either the front or rear wheel. It is recommended to be used with the Shimano BL-M7100 brake lever, SM-BH90-SBM cable and SM-RT70 brake disc for optimal performance. But can also be used in combination with other brake discs.

SERVO WAVE is a technology from Shimano that ensures better braking performance on your mountain bike. Simply put, it makes your brake lever react faster, giving you more braking power with less effort. This allows you to brake more precisely, which is especially useful during fast descents or in technically difficult situations. The result is a more responsive, efficient braking experience that gives you more confidence on the bike. In addition, the included N03A resin brake pads feature Ice-Tech cooling fins, which prevent overheating of the brakes, especially during long and steep descents.

Ice-Tech cooling fins
Braking can lead to high temperatures, especially if you brake a lot and hard, such as during steep descents. Too much heat can reduce braking performance and even lead to brake failure. The Ice-Tech cooling fins are designed to tackle this problem. They are part of the brake pads and are made of a special material that conducts and dissipates heat well. This means your brakes stay cooler, even if you use them intensively. Cooler brakes mean better performance and a longer life for both brake pads and discs.
