The HG500 cassette is placed on a spider, so the cassette has sufficient stiffness and the weight is not too high. This spider also prevents the cassette from chipping your body.
The gears are pressed from an aluminum plate and are then finished neatly. The result is a cassette with a good value for money and solid performance. Due to the nickel coating on the cassette, the durability of the cassette is guaranteed as well. The Shimano Deore HG54 10-speed chain is specially designed for the 10-speed Dyna-sys MTB groups. This means that this chain optimally shifts to cassettes where the jumps between the gears are larger than on a road cassette.
