The Mantel R50D TLR Disc wheels have front and rear thru-axles in the standard sizes 100x12 and 142x12 respectively. The hubs have a good seal and durable industrial bearings. As the name suggests, the rims are tubeless ready. The rims feel fast and can withstand strong winds. Aerodynamics tests show that in crosswinds the Mantel R50D TLR road bike wheels perform even better than the popular Zipp 303 wheels. Only in frontal winds their score is but a fraction lower.
Disc brakes offer aerodynamics combined with the best braking performance in all conditions. Thus, problem-free riding in the mountains is very possible.
If you’re looking for an affordable, stiff, 50mm high carbon wheelset, the Mantel R50D TLR Disc wheels are a very good choice!

Tubeless readyYou can hardly see it! The tubeless tape has been fitted very nicely and tightly and is the same colour as the rims. The wheels also come with tubeless valves which fit the rim perfectly. If you want to ride tubeless, you will require tubeless tyres and latex liquid, and no inner tubes. This brings many benefits in terms of performance, as it reduces your rolling resistance significantly, increases traction, and optimises ride comfort. The main advantage is that you will not have to stop in case of a puncture, as the latex fills the puncture within seconds thanks to small grains that accumulate under the hole.

Rapporto qualità prezzo impareggiabile!
È il mio primo set di ruote in carbonio ad alto profilo. Le ho messe sulla mia Olympia Boost disc al posto delle originali Miche race dx in alluminio con profilo dal 28 mm e pur essendo tubeless ready, io per il momento ho preferito montarle ancora con camera d'aria. Semplicemente straordinarie. Ho già fatto 3 uscite dall'inizio della settimana, da quando le ho montate e mi hanno sorpreso incredibilmente. Innanzitutto la scorrevolezza. Il sibilo aerodinamico in marcia è molto "cool", e le ruote permettono un sicuro guadagno in termini di resistenza all'avanzamento e velocità di marcia. Ma la cosa in assoluto che mi ha sorpreso di più è il rendimento in salita. Oltre al guadagno in termini di peso rispetto alle precedenti ruote (circa 350 gr. complessivi) questi cerchi permettono un buon cambio di ritmo anche nei momenti di maggior fatica. Bello, deciso e caratteristico poi il suono dell'ingranaggio della ruota posteriore. Impossibile non sentirlo. L'aspetto estetico poi neanche a parlarne. La bici in generale con queste ruote è notevolmente più bella (parere personale). Unica nota negativa secondo me è che con le ruote danno in dotazione 6 piccoli adesivi Mantel di un colore a scelta tra quelli disponibili che però lasciano la ruota piuttosto anonima, ma per il prezzo di acquisto è un dettaglio sicuramente trascurabile. In generale poi sembrano piuttosto resistenti sulle asperità delle strade e quelle italiane purtroppo, sono molto spesso estremamente sconnesse o rovinate, come anche dalle mie parti.

Goed, maar let op!
Let op, niet altijd passend bij juiste steekas maatvoering! Naaf van het voorwiel is niet geschikt voor het frame van de Giant TCR advanced 1 disc (2018) racefietsen. Door de dikte van de naaf en de relatief korte as (zie foto) loopt de body van de naaf tegen het frame als de steekas het frame om de naaf klemt. Mooie lichte set, helaas niet kunnen testen.
