The Varia RearVue 820 combines state-of-the-art radar technology with a slim design that weighs just 90 grams. Its construction is water-resistant to IPX7 standard, meaning it can withstand rain showers as well as road spray. The radar beam is 60 degrees wide, ensuring highly accurate detection of traffic approaching from behind. This technology makes it possible to track vehicles as far as 175 metres away. Furthermore, the Varia's internal battery has an impressive runtime - in day flash mode, it will last up to 24 hours, and in continuous mode its light and full radar functionality will last for 10 hours.

The Varia RearVue 820 is more than just a radar: it is a complete safety system. The rear light provides an output of 100 lumens in day flash mode, making you visible to others up to 2 kilometres away. The brake light detects your braking or stopping, and then displays a unique flash pattern. Thanks to ANT+ and Bluetooth aconnectivity, you can easily pair the radar with your bike computer or smartphone, which then gives you detailed warnings about approaching vehicles, including an indication of size and speed. Moreover, you can configure custom light patterns via the Varia app, such as peloton mode, which prevents the light from blinding cyclists directly behind you with a softer output of 8 lumens. Day flash mode makes you stand out well in daylight conditions.
