Sturdy waterproof bag that stays put
I bought this bag for a 4-day bikepacking trip with my mtb of over 400km. The bag stayed in place well and barely hindered me. Only on steeper downhill sections was I unable to hang behind the saddle. We had 1 day of very heavy rain, but the bag was nicely waterproof. Depending on how you fill the bag, it sometimes stuck up quite a bit at the back. As with any of these types of bags, it is a bit amusing that you have to keep unloading the whole bag to get to what you actually need. A possible drawback is that the bag is not quick to assemble or disassemble. This does take some time. But normally you only have to do this twice a day. The roll-up system and valve do a good job, you might be surprised how small you can make the bag. I definitely recommend buying the larger version. The bag did not cause any damage to my bike. Conclusion: highly recommended.

Spacious seatpack, stable while cycling.
Very spacious seatpack, sufficiently stable while cycling. Ideal for your clothes during a bikepacking vacation. With the valve you can easily compress your clothes and let the excess air escape. Completely waterproof and easy to attach and detach. Too bad you have to buy another strap separately for extra stabilization.

Top thought out + practical
Lightweight and easy to handle, top tight. Without additional tensioning strap (8 € from Ortlieb) gehts but not really. Therefore, only 8 points, otherwise there would have been 10.

Excellent but I would buy the 17 liters.
The bag is excellent and fulfills its function perfectly. The only problem is that the upper rubber bands are under the saddle so they have little use (they serve to carry a towel for example). The 17 liter bag does not have this problem, besides having more capacity.

Neat light waterproof bag replaces warm backpack.
I use the bike for commuting and did not want a backpack. This bag provides the solution. A set of clothes, lunch and shower necessities fit in it. Shoes just barely. The valve is a clever addition, allowing the bag to be rolled up compactly. Attaching it to the bike takes some getting used to, but not complicated. I do miss a handle or shoulder holder for lifting as a bag. This makes t separate from the bike less manageable than hoped. All in all, however, it is a suitable bag for what it is intended for.

Beautiful and useful bag with a neat design.
The bag is very useful for bike packing trips. A lot can fit in and there is a useful valve to get rid of the air upon closing the bag. The only thing that could be better is the strap which could be slightly longer to close it along the seat post. However, it is not a real problem.

super tas
Zeer stevig te bevestigen. Tijdens het fietsen merk je de tas niet. Voldoende inhoud om de hoognodige spullen mee te nemen tijdens fietstracking.

The ass rocket gold standard. The competitors have to be measured against Ortlieb.
Great Ortlieb-like'e processing quality. Multiday tour with plenty of wetness has this super variable pannier can only elicit a weary smile. If 2 of them would have space on the wheel, I would strap2. But Ortlieb has yes other matching products.

The swallows really away....
For my first bikepacking tour in mid-October 2022 over a distance of 300 km in the Bavarian Forest, I had deliberately chosen the Ortlieb Seat-Pack 16.5 in addition to a top tube bag. Already during the test packing I noticed positively how much luggage the Seat-Pack can hold, so that I did not need any other panniers on a 2.5-day tour. The attachment is very easy and quickly done. In addition, I still used the support pack straps to give the yet long "package" more stability. Whether you really need them when packing right, I can not judge yet. That the bag is waterproof, it was allowed to prove the same on the second day - 1a quality. Price performance is right and I would recommend the Seat Pack in any case.

Top I lie Ortlieb bags!
Ortlieb remains Ortlieb- I find the bag perfect. It is (16.5L) large enough to stow things for an overnight stay, but can also compress well for less luggage. I find it quite stable on the wheel, who it wobbles too much can stabilize it with additional straps. Mounted within a minute so easy change of bags possible!

Also very useful as an everyday companion e.g. for a jacket etc.

Top saddlebag
I have not yet tried the saddlebag, but it fits perfectly under my XS Gravel frame. Ideal for bikepacking and by the changeable size always suitable for short to medium tours

Fine saddle bag that holds a lot. Large, but stable and sturdy.

Have already bought it three times. That says it all
If you know how to handle it, it is super awesome for bike-packing. When packing, you have to open the valve so you can squeeze it well. Then close the valve and tighten the straps. Perfect

Super bag!
Highly recommended saddle bag. Enough space for a week of bikepacking!

Good variable bag with firm hold on the seat post
I have replaced the bag on my last tour against the Ortlieb Handlebar Pack, because I wanted to have the handlebars times free, since I only drive from hotel to hotel. It can be packed much "tighter" and faster and is relatively easy to attach and sitz very well. Unaccustomed was only the "sprint", which is somewhat unusual with the bag, due to the inertia at this position. However, in my opinion, the handling on the bike is on balance better than a bag on the handlebars, if you have to decide for only one.

Essential bikepacking bag with super volume and ingenious features.
The Ortlieb Seat Pack (ass rocket) has been extensively tested on a multi-day gravel bike tour and has COMPLETELY convinced. With proper packing technique and the recommended weight range (3-4 kg) without disturbing influences on the driving behavior. It also fits really a lot of luggage in the Seat Pack and a clear buy recommendation

functional
works great, even off-road. Have taken the 10L so that I can put the saddle deeper in the terrain. Has proven itself. Note the height of the Seat Pack.

Super driving experience - nothing wobbles even when fully loaded! Whether it is waterproof, I can not say yet.

Very large and durable
You can fit a huge amount into these packs. The purge valve is a nice touch and really useful as these packs are waterproof and do no leak any air! The main Velcro straps are really strong and I can’t imagine any scenario where they might fail. Overall, really good quality!

Large capacity, sturdy and waterproof, so you can forget about it on your bike
The ORTLIEB saddle bag is very easy to install, thanks to the two Velcro fasteners on the seatpost and the two clips. In seconds, it can be detached and quickly replaced on another bike. Large loading capacity and good valve system to empty the air. Robust, super-tight material. You can hang a red light on the back, and the elastic bands are handy for hanging a little something out of the bag. You don't really feel it, and the bag makes you forget about it, even on shaky trails. Despite the rather high price compared with similar models, I'm very happy with my purchase.

Favorite for bikepacking
Exceeds expectations, one can put a lot in it without interfering with riding. The stitches look super sturdy. Might recommend the extra buckle for even more stability when the bag is well filled.

Highly recommended for any cyclist who wants to carry little gear.
It is a super solid bag. It's big enough to carry clothes for the evening and some food for the road. When heavily loaded it does wobble a bit, but you can avoid that by packing everything more compactly.

Takes away the last excuse to actually go out.
If you go bikepacking in the Netherlands, a waterproof French fry bag in which you can carry (bike) clothes for any weather is a must. Awesome German quality with a nice orange twist.

Price quality one of the best bags on the market!
Works as seat packs should. The handy puller at the top allows you to quickly tuck away your jacket or cap. The size of the pocket is ideal, you fold it up when you need less space.

Fantastic quality product
Fully waterproof and durable saddle bag, great quality materials, securing mechanisms mean there is no away from the bag when out of the saddle. Ive used it half full and it still keeps its shape fine. Be warned to check your seat post length, I just about got away with it fitting, it says 7 inches required, but 6 and a half worked fine.

I am satisfied with the purchase. It is just what I needed for short trips.

Solid, waterproof, offers plenty of space
The temptation is sometimes to become a gear snob, but this really is a practical and sturdy bag. By far the most important thing for a bike packing trip. Tip: better not put anything between the rubber bands. Due to the shocks (at least in gravel), you otherwise risk losing things like flip-flops like yours truly.

Does exactly what it is designed to do
A small one, 11 litres, was enough for a 3-day trip. Handy with quick-release straps on top (for the cherries)

Great buy, very good quality! The pouch is very easy to install and the system for emptying the air gives it greater volume and stability. I'm delighted with my purchase.

We're delighted with our purchase. A well-designed, waterproof pannier for a 1000 km mountain biking adventure in the Swiss mountains.

Fantastic bag, fits a lot, attaches well to a road bike.
Have used the bag on two weekend trips. It fits enough clothes for two days, including shoes and extra race clothes. The bag is super stable and you don't notice anything while cycling. Also looks very good and professional ;-).
Pros & Cons

Great for bikepacking with a bike that doesn't have a mudguard!
Perfect for bikepacking with a Gravel. I've already been away for 72 hours and I intend to repeat the experience. It doesn't get in the way when you're on the move, and it fits really well. However, I'm thinking of buying the optional strap for extra stability.

Why didn’t I buy this earlier?!
Superb seat pack, really easy to attach and holds a decent amount of kit. We used two for a recent bikepacking trip. Great to be able to use carbon road bikes and still take some luggage. Highly recommended.

Highly recommended: fully waterproof, fits a lot, sits tight on the bike, and looks good!
For a cycling holiday (my first bikepacking experience with road bikes), I bought this last-minute. The first time using it, I had to figure out how to pack it efficiently to both get a lot in and get it tightly closed. That eventually worked out, and all subsequent times only got better. Attaching it to the bike is a snap, and it can be very tight, so it doesn't swing (or very minimally). Cycled over 700km with it in 7 days (+1 rest day), and enjoyed it very much. Despite the almost constant rain, not a drop got into the bag, so I was fortunately able to put on dry clothes every day.

Super nice bag! Can hold a lot! Easy to attach

Good buy
Great waterproof bag with plenty of volume. Handy with the air that can be squeezed out. With a saddle with a fixed rear light, it's really puzzling, because then you don't get the straps under it easily.

Nice sturdy bag, easy to use, does need to be taken off in its entirety if you want to take the bag with you.
Is easy to mount under the saddle of my road bike, closes well and rolls up compactly. Disadvantage is that it has to be removed completely from the bike, there are also systems where you can unclip the bag from a holder.

Great product at the best price on the net.
After a long search and comparisons on the Internet, I ended up with Mantel. I have not found a better price-performance ratio on the market. As I have a big bike tour with my wife coming up soon, I will continue to order here. The saddle bag is intended as a Christmas present and I'm going to fill it with little things. For example, protein bars, toothpaste, hair conditioner, toothbrush, deodorant, shower gel and a power drink. Thank you for the great service.

Also great for everyday use. For bikepacking tours anyway
Also good to use as an everyday bag for me. Saves me the rain cover for the rear wheel
