Pros
The shoes' breathable upper prevents overheating in hot conditions, keeping your feet fresh for longer. |
The integrated midsole and upper ensure a snug and firm fit for high confidence especially at high speeds. |
The carbon construction makes the pedals super light and stiff, boosting your performance! |
Thanks to the extremely smoothly running bearings, you will lift your shoes easily over the highest point for efficient cycling. |
Lightweight, durable and stiff, these Shimano R8000 SPD-SL pedals are great value for money! |
The aluminium inserts on the carbon surface make the pedals wear less quickly and make the contact surface larger. |
The pedals' flat design allows for cornering at a 33 degree angle, so you can keep pedalling longer and are less likely to touch the ground. |
The dual BOA L6Z dials on each shoe make it easy to make micro-adjustments on the go for optimal comfort. |
The Shimano RC703 cycling shoe has an extremely stiff carbon sole that provides direct and efficient power transfer, which is essential in top class cycling. |
The low spring tension makes it easy to step in and out of these pedals. |
The RC102 cycling shoes have a modern and sporty design. |
The large pedal surface makes power transfer easier and your feet less likely to get sore. |
The upper's mesh material and good ventilation ensure a pleasant climate inside the shoes. |
The BOA dial on each shoe allows for quick micro-adjustments, even during cycling. |
The metal plate on each pedal's composite body extends durability. |
The shoe's nylon sole is reinforced with fibreglass for better power transfer. |
The pedals are excellent value for money. |
Cons
The stiff shoe sole maximises power transfer but may not feel very comfortable when walking. |
The pedals come with blue cleats as standard. If you prefer yellow or red ones, you can order them separately. |
The perforations in the shoes provide excellent ventilation in warm weather but in cold conditions you will need to wear overshoes or thicker socks to prevent your feet getting cold. |
The pedals come with yellow cleats, which have more float than blue or red cleats. |
The low spring tension makes the pedals less suitable for races and performance cycling because in full sprints your feet are not as securely attached to the pedals. However, on most lower-intensity and touring rides, you won't notice this at all. |
To adjust the shoe's fit, Velcro straps may not be as fast as a BOA dial system but are easy to use. |
The pedals have a relatively slightly higher weight. |
The shoe's fibreglass-reinforced nylon sole is not as stiff as a full carbon sole but, rather, offers more comfort on long rides. |
