The SRAM Road Disc Alu brake pads are brake pads for SRAM brakes with an aluminium backplate and an organic compound.
Organic brake pads consist of soft materials. These brake pads therefore give excellent controllability and braking power. Due to the soft compound, this pad also engages quickly. In addition, the organic compound ensures that these brake pads make little noise while riding.
These brake pads are placed on an aluminium backplate, which greatly improves heat dissipation. Organic brake pads are less resistant to higher temperatures than Semi-Metallic brake pads. However, because of the aluminium backplate, these properties are greatly improved, making these pads good for use in the Netherlands or in hilly areas.
In short, if you use your bike mainly in summer, cycling mainly in the Netherlands or in hilly terrain, these organic brake pads are the perfect choice. However, if you use the bike mainly in winter, or if you go to mountainous areas, you'd better go for Semi-Metallic or Metallic brake pads.
Please note:
Manufacturers use different fits. So pay close attention to whether the shape of the brake pad in the picture matches your current brake pad. If you don't know what shape you have, scroll to the bottom of this page. There, each pad is described for which type of brake it is compatible with.
