Pros & Cons

Pros & Cons

  • The Varia RTL515 Rearview Radar bike light warns you about traffic coming up from behind and makes sure you're seen, day and night.
  • The RTL515 comes equipped with ANT+ and Bluetooth, enabling you to connect the Rearview Radar with your Edge cycling computer, Garmin smart watch, smartphone and even some bike computers from other brands.
  • The battery lasts up to 16 hours, so you won't have to worry about the Varia RTL515's battery level while you're on the road.
  • Can also be mounted on D-shaped, aero and round seat posts thanks to the new mounting system.
  • The Varia RTL515 Rearview Radar only works with a few types of cycle computers from other brands.

Good equipment addition for avid cyclists

- Fokje 10 May 2026

You need to hold the on/off button a little longer to make sure your lamp is off. If you hold it down for too short a time, the lamp will stay on and go out faster. Gives a safe feeling on the road.

Pros & Cons

Bright light
Easy to pair with garmin
Reliable display of passing vehicles
Battery dies relatively quickly

5 / 5

A clear recommendation to buy.

- Martin 10 December 2025

Can be easily connected to a Garmin Edge 1030. Setting the light mode is a little "fiddly", but doable. The display of traffic approaching from behind works reliably, the acoustic indication and that on the display are as simple as they are effective.

Safer by warning

- Niels 10 December 2025

Clear signal when traffic comes up behind. Especially in the winter months, when wearing a hat, this is a great bonus. No more being startled by a car suddenly passing by. Only drawback is that when the bike path is clear, the signal also comes.

Pros & Cons

Safer
Warning
Also signal when bike path is clear
