Description

The Bryton Rider 420 E GPS bike computer has been designed to provide the most enjoyable cycling experience for those looking for a combination of a reliable bike computer and navigation functions. The renewed screen ensures a clear view from any angle. Via the Bryton App you can display up to 8 different data per data field to see all your performance details in a single overview on the screen. When connected to your smartphone, the Bryton offers a Smart Notifications option; you can see who's trying to call you as you're cycling, or which emails are coming in. All your rides are tracked and can be uploaded to Strava afterwards to allow you to analyse your performance or share it with friends. Although the Bryton Rider 420 bike computer doesn't have a map, it offers a turn-by-turn navigation function. Upload a route at home or on your smartphone and the Rider 420 will tell you exactly where to go.

The Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) ensures a good satellite connection whether you're cycling in the mountains or in remote areas. This is due to the global coverage with GPS, Glonass, Galileo, QZSS, BDS and more satellites. In addition, the Bryton Rider 420 GPS bike computer has an impressive battery life of 35 hours. In terms of waterproofness, it has been rated at IPX7, which means that it is protected against the worst weather conditions. Should you accidentally drop it in water during a mountain bike ride, it is waterproof to a depth of 1 meter for 30 minutes.

Great device for the recreational cyclist

- Wiel 10 July 2023

This bike GPS computer works well, have been using it for 2 months now. Advantage is definitely the long battery life. Navigation works well, takes some getting used to the turn-by-turn navigation. It takes some puzzling to get all the settings right, the Dutch translation of the manual on the internet and the Dutch text in the Rider 420 are not always translated logically. Otherwise a great device, especially as it can be used while cycling without having to activate the Bryton app on the phone. Hope to enjoy it for a long time to come.

Pros & Cons

clearly readable screen
long battery life
no phone app needed while driving
User manual unclear
Automatic translation

Great quality for this price

- Laura 31 May 2023

Works well, battery lasts a long time. Pairing with heart rate monitors etc goes very smoothly. I did the first update/sync with my computer via cable because it did not work via the app. Creating routes is very simple, but you have to sit down for a while in the beginning. Then it works great. Reading is sometimes difficult, especially on stretches where several streets meet. But as an extra support it is fine! All in all satisfied for this price!

Pros & Cons

Good overview
Quick to use
App could be better
Route reading sometimes a little difficult
Automatic translation

Preparing for a long trip.

- Fred 23 March 2023

It counts heavily for me that Norton indicated that the firmware update was damaging the computer. Nevertheless, I completed the update and am now on Strava. I haven't entered any routes yet. It is my first bike navigation, price and battery life and crumb trail are my motives. It will work out.

Pros & Cons

Comes with holder and cable.
Good readability.
Substantial battery life.
Manual very small font.
Update firmware harmful to computer.
Automatic translation
