The BBB Cycling BBS-443 DiscStop HP dic brake pads have an organic compound. Organic brake pads consist of soft materials. This ensures they have excellent modulation and good braking power. They also engage quickly and make little noise thanks to the soft compound.
The downside of organic brake pads is that they’re less resistant to high temperatures that can occur during long descents. Organic brake pads also wear faster if you often ride on muddy terrain.
So, if you use your bike mostly in the summer and on flat or slightly hilly terrain, these organic brake pads are a perfect choice. If you are more of a winter cyclist, or ride in the hills and mountains quite a lot, you’re better off with Semi-Metallic brake pads.
