The positioning of the panels has been updated for greater comfort when sitting upright and less tightness around the chest and shoulders.
New RX thermal fabric in the side panels, under the arms and around the collar improves breathability, which is crucial on long winter training rides.
As the raw-cut sleeve ends create a seamless transition from fabric to skin, they go very well with gloves and base layers without causing pressure points.
As the breathable insulation in the sleeves retains heat without letting too much heat accumulate, the jacket is suitable for high-intensity cycling.
The compressive nature of the sleeves contributes to a secure fit, keeping the jacket firmly in place throughout long rides.
Ulemper
Unlike previous Perfetto jackets, this version does not include any openings with zips that allow you to adjust ventilation; rather, it is the membrane that regulates breathability based on your level of exertion.
As the jacket is not insulated, it doesn’t retain much heat and you will need an extra layer in temperatures below 6°C.
The slim, aerodynamic cut leaves little room for a thick thermal layer underneath; in extremely cold weather, it’s best to wear this jacket with a thinner, warm base layer rather than a thick thermal jersey.
The snug fit feels less spacious than in similar models but ensures stability and aerodynamics.
The lack of extra vents may be a disadvantage in milder conditions but the breathable material largely makes up for this.
