The Wolf Tooth Elliptical Shimano Direct Mount oval chainrings are suitable for Shimano Direct Mount cranksets like the XTR M9100, Shimano XT M8100 and SLX M7100. The wide-narrow sprocket teeth profile ensures that your chain cannot run off the chainring. Thanks to the Wolf Tooth's oval chainring, the dead point in your pedal stroke is eliminated. The point where the force is the smallest, the chainring is immediately lifted over the dead point.
Wolf Tooth's patented design means a slightly (10%) less oval shape with a less aggressive position (112°) than competitors' variants. While an oval chainring hardly affects ride feel, it certainly has big advantages in terms of power transfer. Especially during climbing.
