You can see this by looking at the shifting ramps engraved in the chainring. This technology makes this crankset very suitable for both cyclocross (XC) and gravel riding.

Light and instant shifting with the RX810 front and rear derailleurs
The Shimano GRX RX810 front derailleur shifts lightly and smoothly thanks to the integrated shift/brake lever combination. The lever that controls the front derailleur also features an ergonomic grip, toggle link construction for cable routing options and an integrated cable tensioning bolt to allow you to make precise adjustments. This front derailleur is also compatible with wider rear wheels, because it's compatible with gravel riding. In fact, this derailleur is designed with 2.5 mm extra clearance, making it compatible with tyres up to 42 mm!

The RX810 rear derailleur has an integrated clutch that prevents the derailleur from rattling on rough terrain, ensuring lasting chain tension. As a result, the derailleur will continue to shift quickly, smoothly and quietly.

Powerful and adjustable brakes
The Shimano GRX RX600 hydraulic disc brakes are made to ensure you'll have plenty of braking power on even the steepest descents. The improved ergonomics and suppleness of the brake lever make shifting very smooth, so much so that you'll only need one finger. In addition, the brake lever's reach is adjustable; you can adjust the handle to the size of your hands for an optimal hand position in relation to your sitting position.

The GRX brakes are flat-mount for powerful braking performance with a unidirectional bleed system. The brake pads feature heat-dissipating fins for efficient cooling on longer descents.
