Precision and reliability
The steel CC-4.2 accurately measures over a long section of the chain and comes into contact with the chain at three strategic points. This quick process makes it easy to determine when your chain needs replacing. It works with all 5- to 13-speed chains and single-speed chains, including all popular brands such as SRAM, Shimano and Campagnolo.

Guidelines for replacing your chain
• Single-speed chains: Replace the chain at or just before 1.0% wear.
• 5- to 10-speed chains: Replace the chain at or just before 0.75% wear.
• 11- to 13-speed chains: Replace the chain at or just before 0.5% wear.
