För- & Nackdelar
- Polartec® AirCore™ ensures consistent warmth, breathability and comfort all day long.
- Water-repellent against light rain, so a refreshing shower won’t spoil your ride.
- Just 235 grams: warm without the jacket feeling heavy.
- Regular fit with a sleek, smart design: subtle reflective details for visibility, without compromising on style.
- Thoughtfully designed down to the last detail: from the positioning of the logo to the finish – exactly what you’d expect from the Espresso range.
- This jacket is designed for temperatures between 4°C and 12°C and offers protection against light rain. In the event of persistent, heavy rain or more severe freezing conditions, a different model would be more suitable.

Every detail has been carefully considered: from the updated logo placement to subtle reflective elements that enhance your visibility without compromising the sleek design. The result is a jacket that combines modern performance with a clean, contemporary look, ready for your daily winter rides.
Polartec® AirCore™
This 219-gram fabric is used throughout the jacket, ensuring even warmth and breathability. This keeps you comfortable throughout your ride, without any cold or damp patches.
Water-repellent against light rain
The jacket repels light rain, so a brief shower whilst out and about won’t leave you soaked straight away.
Reflective details
Subtle reflective elements enhance your visibility in the dark, without compromising the jacket’s sleek, modern design.
Suitable for:
- Cycle rides between 4°C and 12°C: ideal for everyday winter rides
- Light rain whilst out cycling
- Persistent, heavy rain: a jacket with a higher waterproof rating is more suitable for this
- Severe freezing conditions below 4°C: for this, you’ll need an extra layer under the jacket
- Wash the jacket inside out at a maximum of 30°C using a sports detergent, to ensure the Polartec® AirCore™ fabric and the water-repellent coating remain intact
- Leave the jacket to air dry: the tumble dryer damages the water-repellent coating
- Wear an extra layer under the jacket as soon as the temperature drops towards freezing
What temperature range is the Castelli Espresso 2 W compatible with?
The Castelli Espresso 2 W is designed for temperatures between 4°C and 12°C. The Polartec® AirCore™ fabric ensures consistent warmth and breathability within that range.
Is the Castelli Espresso 2 W waterproof?
The Castelli Espresso 2 W is water-repellent against light rain, but it is not a fully waterproof jacket. If you’re expecting persistent rain, a jacket with a higher level of waterproofing is a better choice.
What’s new about the Castelli Espresso 2 W compared to previous Espresso jackets?
The Castelli Espresso 2 W is the first jacket in the Espresso range to feature Polartec® AirCore™ technology, incorporated into a 219-gram fabric throughout the jacket for consistent warmth and comfort.
