Polartec® AirCore™
This 219-gram fabric is used throughout the jacket, ensuring even warmth and breathability. This keeps you comfortable throughout your ride, without any cold or damp patches.
Water-repellent against light rain
The jacket repels light rain, so a brief shower whilst out and about won’t leave you soaked straight away.
Reflective details
Subtle reflective elements enhance your visibility in the dark, without compromising the jacket’s sleek, modern design.
Suitable for:
- Cycle rides between 4°C and 12°C: ideal for everyday winter rides
- Light rain whilst out cycling
- Persistent, heavy rain: a jacket with a higher waterproof rating is more suitable for this
- Severe freezing conditions below 4°C: for this, you’ll need an extra layer under the jacket
- Wash the jacket inside out at a maximum of 30°C using a sports detergent, to ensure the Polartec® AirCore™ fabric and the water-repellent coating remain intact
- Leave the jacket to air dry: the tumble dryer damages the water-repellent coating
- Wear an extra layer under the jacket as soon as the temperature drops towards freezing

Is the Castelli Espresso 2 W waterproof?
The Castelli Espresso 2 W is water-repellent against light rain, but it is not a fully waterproof jacket. If you’re expecting persistent rain, a jacket with a higher level of waterproofing is a better choice.
