The Castelli Belgian Bootie 5 was made for convenience. In the old days, Belgian riders used to cut out the soles of their winter socks and then used the socks as overshoes. Nowadays, the Belgian Bootie by Castellie offers of course much more protection, partly thanks to the double layer polypropylene around the feet. The overshies are high enough to cover 9cm socks. The reflective stripe on the ankle and toes offers extra safety.
