The Vittoria Air-liner Protect Enduro protects your rim from impact damage. That means you can ride at lower tyre pressures, without worrying about damaging your rims. In case of a flat tyre, you can carefully keep riding on your insert. That means you'll be able to get home, or to finish your competition. When you inflate your tyre, the insert will form a T-shape inside of the tyre, protecting the edges of the rim so the sidewalls will be less susceptible to tearing.

Usage
The insert is meant to be used in a tubeless setup. This requires multiway valves, which are included. An insert can save you during a tough enduro ride, and can be the reason you're able to get home!
