With these Zipp 303 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Brake Hookless bike wheels, Zipp has made one of the most versatile wheelsets available. From smooth bike paths to Flemish cobblestones, from flat polder roads to hills, from asphalt to gravel: theZipp 303 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Brake Hookless bike wheels are at home everywhere.
Despite their 40 mm height, the Zipp 303s weigh 1352 grams, which can rightly be called lightweight for a wheelset with disc brakes. The 30 mm wide tubeless ready rim has an internal rim width of 25 mm. Zipp guarantees the best performance when combined with 28 mm tyres; a low rolling resistance, good aerodynamics, grip and comfort. These wheels are suitable for tyres from 28 mm up to an impressive 55 mm. Mounting them is effortless with Zipp's "Tubeless Made Easy" system, and doesn't require a compressor. The rim is hookless, meaning the inner rim is straight and lacks a hook, and that only tubeless ready tyres can be mounted on these rims.
The central point of the 303 Firecrest Tubeless Disc Brake wheels are the Zipp ZR1 hubs, developed in Germany. These roll super smoothly, have well-sealed industrial bearings and engage quickly thanks to their 6-pawl body with 66 points of engagement. The rims and hub are kept in place by reliable, aerodynamic Sapim CX-Sprint spokes.
TSE (Total System Efficiency technology)
Zipp has focused on only one thing with their Total System Efficiency Technology: speed! This innovative rim lay-up decreases air resistance, rolling resistance, weight and vibrations, and increases durability.
Tubeless Made Easy
Making your wheels tubeless has never been this easy. The rims have been optimised for easy mounting without having to use tools. The rim is hookless, and the lack of hook means your tyre will easily pop into place and be airtight. You won't even need a compressor to seat your tyres! Riding tubeless means you can ride with a lower tyre pressure, resulting in lower rolling resistances and more comfort and grip in all circumstances.
ABLC SawTooth
The Advanced Boundary Layer Control design features Zipp's characteristic golf ball structure. This ensures that the airflow is directed along the surface of the rim for optimal aerodynamics. Plus, it improves stability which in turn improves your comfort.
RollingRoad Test Protocol
Zipp continues to optimise their wheels using wind tunnels and computer simulations, though they realise the 'real world' is the best environment to test a wheel. Together, this has resulted in Zipp's RollingRoad Test Protocol. That's how they came up with a more bulbous rim, which becomes one with the tyre. You'll experience even more stability and less air resistance. That's why it'll be easier to keep riding at speed, all while losing less energy. You can also mount wider tyres because of the wider rim. An increased tyre volume and lower tyre pressure reduces vibrations, which ensures you'll get less tired on long rides.
Zipp ZR1 hubs
The central points of these Zipp wheels are the Zipp ZR1 hubs, a durable set of hubs designed in Germany. These hubs feature well-sealed industrial bearings with extremely low rolling resistance. The rear hub has a body equipped with 66 points of engagement for quicker reactions while you're pedalling.
Zipp Lifetime Warranty
The Zipp Lifetime Warranty provides you with a lifelong warranty on manufacturing defects, so you'll have ultimate security! The warranty becomes active after registering your wheel(set) with Zipp and is nontransferable upon sale.
