Elitewheels Marvel 50V road bike wheels for rim brakes are designed for use on both flat and hilly roads. The Elitewheels Marvel 50V carbon wheels offer an affordable option for road bikes with rim brakes with very good and solid quality. Although this is an entry-level wheelset from the Elitewheels range, you do get specifications you won't easily find in this price range. The rims can handle impressive temperatures of up to 270 degrees to ensure safety for longer or steeper descents.

The Elite wheels Marvel 50V carbon wheels feature 28mm wide 50mm high rims with a low weight of 1615 grams, equipped with bearings with ceramic balls for low rolling resistance and durability. They have been extensively tested and come with highly reliable Pillar stainless steel spokes. The Marvel 50V wheelset is aerodynamically optimised for 25-28mm tyres and feels tremendously stable in windy conditions thanks to the U-shaped rim.

Rims
At Elitewheels, Marvel wheels are designed to meet the needs of recreational cyclists. Unlike the aluminium rims found on most road bikes, Marvel wheels are stronger, stiffer, much more aerodynamic and significantly lighter. In fact, wheels play the biggest role in a bike's aerodynamics. As opposed to reducing weight elsewhere, a lighter rim saves rotating weight, which makes for a more agile feel and faster acceleration on the bike.

Spokes
Choosing the right spoke to build a wheel is essential. Elitewheels has chosen to use Pillar PA 1423 stainless steel spokes. They are cold forged making them even stronger than regular spokes, allowing them to handle high tensile strength and a maximum rider weight of 130kg.

Hubs
Elitewheels Marvel wheels feature high-flange hubs that achieve higher lateral stiffness and greatly improve stability. Both the front and rear wheel hubs feature semi-ceramic bearings with an extremely low coefficient of friction, saving you precious wattage. The front hub uses 6803 semi-ceramic bearings and the rear hub uses three 6803 bearings and one 6903 bearing. The bigger the bearing, the better the stiffness.

Semi-ceramic
The front hub of the Marvel 50V uses two 6803 semi-ceramic bearings. The rear hub uses one 6903 and three 6803 semi-ceramic bearings. These large bearings offer better durability than standard bearings. By using large semi-ceramic bearings, you get a more efficient bike, saving precious wattage.

Brake surface
The Marvel 50V uses a resin mixture that can handle a 270℃ high temperature, developed by Elitewheels itself. A Japanese Toray T800 carbon fibre has been used for the brake surface. This heat resistance ensures excellent braking performance even on longer and steeper descents. The brake track also features laser-etched grooves to carry away water, enabling safe and consistent braking in wet conditions.

Tubeless
All wheels from Elitewheels are tubeless ready and fitted with tubeless rim tape. Each rim features our unique tubeless R-angle design, making fitting easier. To make fitting tubeless tyres even easier, the rims are designed with special mounting rims, making inflation possible even with a floor pump.
