PolyX Breaker
The PolyX Breaker is the result of Continental being able to translate a car-industry technology to a bicycle tyre: Polyester has been employed successfully in car tyres for years and has seen a multitude of tests performed on it. The extremely resistant polyester fibres are woven into place diagonally. This creates an extremely high fabric density which not only makes the breaker layer incredibly resistant to sharp objects, but also extremely resilient against penetration. The PolyX Breaker does not negatively impact rolling resistance.

BlackChili
A new balance between grip and rolling resistance. This unique rubber compound, produced only in the German Continental factory, has vastly improved bicycle tyres. The BlackChili compound reduces rolling resistance by 26% and offers 30% more grip than many existing silica compounds. Tyres with the BlackChili compound impress hugely when it comes to mileage as well in contrast to many multi-compound tyres. This means that Continental can offer a more constant ride from the very first to the last kilometres.
