Squirt E-Bike Wax is a very good chain lubricant that has been specially developed for electric bikes. In contrast to many other oil-based lubricants, this Squirt product is a wax. This wax provides improved lubrication in all conditions, attracts far less dirt than an oil and sticks extra well to the chain in wet conditions. Components have been added to this lubricant to increase its water resistance. Substances have also been added to make the chain more resistant to the high tractive forces coming from an electric motor. These properties, plus the fact that Squirt E-Bike Wax attracts less dirt, will make your chain and sprockets last longer.
First time application of Squirt E-Bike Wax.
Applying Squirt E-Bike Wax for the first time is a little more time consuming than other products. First you have to degrease the chain completely, for which you can use one of these degreasers.
After degreasing you make the chain dry and you apply a first layer of wax. You let this rest for 10 minutes, so that it can penetrate the links. After this you apply a second layer of wax, which you also let soak in for 10 minutes before applying a third layer. After applying the third coat, let the chain dry overnight.
Never degrease or scrub again after this!
After this first application, there is no need to degrease or polish the chain ever again. After a dirty ride, simply wipe the chain with a dry cloth to remove all dirt and sand from the outside. Then apply one coat of Squirt E-Bike Wax and let it dry overnight. Your chain will be well-lubricated and spin extra smoothly!
