With the XC903, Shimano adds a very competitive shoe to an already illustrious list. Many world champions won their title using this shoe's predecessors. So why would you ever alter this perfect shoe?
Cycling changes constantly, XC and cyclocross included. The competitions are becoming even more exhausting, and the best participants distinguish themselves early on during races. These rapid changes require shoes which can handle this. With the XC903, you're optimally prepared for everything the average off-road competition can throw at you.
A single pedal stroke can mean the difference between winning and an inglorious second place. That's why Shimano has gone all out to make that one pedal stroke the best stroke it can be. With this shoe's carbon sole, all your power will be converted into valuable speed. Its midsole has a low stack height and stabilises the foot, ensuring that every pedal stroke is transferred well and is efficient.
Good in the worst circumstances
Off-road competitions are often heroic, with their heavy rain, extreme droughts or frozen terrain. The world of cyclocross and cross-country mountain biking is only for those who can handle these circumstances. These people deserve a shoe that's designed for their needs. THe XC903 is made from high-end synthetic leather, which is both durable and breathable. Warm feet won't be a limiting factor, not even during the toughest competitions.
Competition and comfort
As described above, this shoe is perfect for cyclists who want to get the most out of themselves and their gear. Performance is the number one priority. Even so, Shimano hasn't forgotten about comfort. The top of this shoe is divided into zones, which ensure the shoe has the right amount of flex and stretch. This makes the shoe comfortable despite being highly performance oriented. The BOA Li2 twist closures allow you to adjust the shoe to your needs on the go.
With these shoes you'll finish fast in style and comfort. And, of course, as the winner. The way only the world's greatest can.
To help you choose the right size as best we can, we've measured all shoes ourselves. You'll only have to measure the length of your foot, and we'll indicate which shoe size of each brand will suit you best.
Is your foot length in mm not mentioned on the relevant product page? Then there is no shoe size available which optimally suits the length of your foot.
You can easily measure your foot by placing an A4 paper on the floor, against the wall. Stand on top of this piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line on the paper at the end of your big toe (or the toe next to it, if it's longer). Do the same with your other foot and choose the largest one. Measure the length between your line and the edge of the paper and you have your foot length in mm! Please note: some shoe manufactures use their own measurement system. It's possible that there's a different size on the box of the shoes you ordered than the one you measured according to our method.
Which shoe size you need can vary per brand. This is because every brand uses its own process to manufacture shoes, which sometimes leads to relatively big or small shoes. Plus, we've divided all shoes into the categories narrow, medium or wide.

Top shoe
A great shoe to ride my races and train with, immediately placed for World Cup gravel during my first race on these shoes. I also ordered another pair straight away because I ride my bike almost every day

Very satisfied with my purchase
These are the best mtb/cyclocross shoes I have worn. I wear them in cyclocross and feel that they make me click in faster at the start and when jumping up.

Never want anything else!
At first I was hesitant because of the knee-high soles, however, this shoe has surprised me at every level. You feel your power flowing back into your speed without any pressure spots anywhere. For longer rides I held my heart, with my previous shoes a numb feeling was assured after one and a half to two hours. With these shoes, I no longer suffer from anything. White mountain bike shoes, wise? No. Beautiful, yes. Besides, they are remarkably easy to clean, even a big mud stain is easy to get off. They won't stay new, but this doesn't disappoint me. Unfortunately, I did set the bar quite high and I'm afraid I won't escape XC9s next time, the biggest drawback being, of course, the price. But that well outweighs the quality!
