The Shimano RC502 are performance-oriented cycling shoes with the DNA of Shimano's very best shoes.
The upper structure of the Shimano RC502 features Shimano's Surround Wrapping. Thus, the entire foot is wrapped in a seamless piece of leather, which improves the fit and leaves fewer openings between the shoes and feet. The BOA L6 dial closure and the Velcro strap also contribute significantly to the comfortable fit: with a simple turn of the knob, you can already tighten the fit slightly, if you so wish. The BOA dial can also be used safely and responsibly during cycling.
Upper covered with mesh and imitation leather
The upper of the Shimano RC502 is covered with mesh and faux leather. This combination of materials contributes to the shoe's comfortable fit and low weight. Thanks to the mesh material, breathability has improved, reducing the chance of your feet overheating.
Carbon reinforced nylon sole
The Shimano RC502 cycling shoe features a carbon-reinforced nylon sole. The carbon makes the sole stiffer (stiffness index: 8) for better power transfer to the pedals. Your efforts on the bike are, therefore, more effectively turned into speed. In addition, your foot is very stable in this cycling shoe. Naturally, this makes the shoe very comfortable to wear, but it also maximises power transfer efficiency. In short, it is yet another feature for more cycling speed.
In order to help you, as best we can, to choose the right size shoe we have measured all the shoes ourselves. All that's left for you to do is measure your own foot length, and we'll tell you which shoe size per brand suits you best. Does your foot length in mm not appear on the relevant product's page? Then that particular shoe is not available in a size that suits your foot length.
You can easily measure your foot length using an A4 sheet of paper, placed on the floor against a wall. Stand with one foot on the piece of paper, with your heel against the wall. Draw a line above your big toe (or above the index toe if that is longer). Now mark your other foot on the paper in the same way. Measure both - the measurement of your longest foot is your foot length in mm's! Please note: some manufacturers have their own measuring system, and as a result what appears on the shoebox can deviate from what we have measured.
What shoe size you need can differ per brand. This is because certain brands wear larger or smaller. To help you get the perfect fit, we've also classified the shoes as narrow, average, or wide fit. Read all about it in our blog!

Fine cycling shoes
Cycling shoes that ventilate sufficiently and are easily and accurately tightened using the BOA system. I was able to keep the same size as my trainers. The shoes fit well on my larger feet (EU46) with narrow heel and low instep. Durability I cannot yet comment on given the short usage time. As they are my first cycling shoes, I have no reference material.

Well-fitting comfortable shoe.
Like my previous Shimano's, choose one size bigger than your normal shoe size.

Perfect shoe for novice (and experienced) cyclists
Fine shoe with two points to get shoe tighter around the foot. This makes the comfort of the shoe very nice

Comfortable and well-fitting
I was looking for a shoe that didn't compress the foot. These Shimano shoes have a wide last and are comfortable for long rides.

Good shoe for training and running.
The fit is great thanks to Mantel's sizing guide. It was really spot on! Haven't had time to cycle many sessions yet, but the feeling is good.
