Our choice of combi pedal (flat pedal & clipless)
These pedals offer great grip on the flat side and easy click-in on the other side. They are also very strong and the bearings are long lasting.

solid yet light

- Ed 12 July 2026

I should have done this sooner – I also use my gravel bike as a normal bike, so this combination is brilliant. But it also suits this bike really well, doesn’t it?

Pros & Cons

Feels and is strong
Looks great

4 / 5

Very good, high quality

- Mats 24 June 2026

It’s a brilliant pair of pedals that lets you bike to work or school in normal shoes, or go for a ride on the roads with clipless pedals!

Pros & Cons

Easy to click in and out
Extremely secure grip
Multitasking
Quick scratching

3 / 5

A practical compromise for the time being, but not ‘the best of both’

- Gerco 23 June 2026

They click in securely, stay firmly in place and are easy to adjust for quick release. On technical sections, the flat pedals on one side aren’t very practical. If you’ve got one foot out, you can’t click back in as easily or place your foot on the flat pedal as readily. You’ll just have to be lucky enough to be on the right side. But if you’re attending a few weeks’ worth of clinics where you’d prefer to ride with flats, whilst also heading off into the woods on your own in between sessions where you like to clip in, then it’s a perfectly good pedal for the time being. The flat side offers sufficient grip, but less than a fully flat pedal because the surface area of this flat side is smaller than that of a fully flat pedal.

Pros & Cons

Grip on the flat section is excellent
No need to change pedals
The pedal turns smoothly
More of a compromise than ‘the best of both’
Once you clip in, the pedal is quite stiff at the bottom
